Following an historic spring frost and late-summer hail, this year's harvest was completed on October 12. Initial estimates project a decrease in harvest yields of 40-50%, compared to 2016 (harvest volume reached more than 5.7 million hectoliters last year). The consensus remains quite positive on quality however. 2017 is a beautiful vintage for dry white Bordeaux -- aromatic, lively and fresh. So far Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon wines are showing good aromatic expression, freshness and fruit with a supple and balanced roundness - positive indicators for quality.
