Manchester United winger Nani has apologised for being sent off in Saturday's 4-1 victory against West Ham United.
The Portugal international was dismissed for head-butting Hammers defender Lucas Neill in the first half of the Old Trafford clash when United were winning 3-1.
NANI Nani admitted: "I recognise my action was a thoughtless one. But I also have to say I was provoked and attacked.
"I regret what I did and want to publicly ask for forgiveness."
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson had been unimpressed with Nani's behaviour, saying after Saturday's win: "The game was marred by immaturity from Nani, real immaturity.

"He showed a measure of immaturity and we'll deal with it."
