Sight,smell,taste,passion,knowledge of culture and plenty of time are important.The most important is lots of money.How can one comment on the DRC or the Ch.Lafite Rothschild,especially the good years, without actual drinking experiences ?

Yes that is correct, but if you are serious in learning, this phase should be quite short, just a few months.

People who are familiar with DRC or Lafite are "brand experts", not wine experts.  A real wine experts should under the variety, the region, vine growing, and vinification, and how all these combine to affect the final wine, and be able to identify these through tasting.

DRC should be looked at no more than just "a premium quality Grand Cru Burgundy".
