The day the RMB becomes an internationally tradable currency is the day the HK dollar ceases to be valuable.  That will also be the day that HK loses its international metropolis status and just becomes another large city in China.  Afterall, HK is not a country.

Don't think a lot of HK ppl would want to see it coming anytime soon..Think about it, why would ppl want to buy HK dollars anymore if they can just directly buy RMB with Euro/USD/Yen/GBP in the international money market?
