1915年，年邁的法國印象派大師雷諾瓦遭逢愛妻逝世、飽受關節炎之苦，他的兒子尚雷諾（日後成爲法國大導演）更在服役中受傷，讓他身心飽受折磨。當年輕貌美的模特兒安蝶降臨到雷諾瓦的生活後，讓他綻放前所未有的創作能量。
然而回到蔚藍海岸休養的尚雷諾，不顧雷諾瓦的反對愛上安蝶，父子關系一觸即發！面對無止無盡的苦痛折磨，雷諾瓦繼續坐在特制的輪椅上，將變形的手用繃帶纏上畫筆，把苦澀轉化成缤紛愉悅的色彩，爲世人留下一幅幅永犁不磨甸滅的譬動人光影藥。
