Dom P, as we call it, is a good, solid, reliable champagne and relatively inexpensive. It always delivers and never disappoints.
However, there is a lacking in a consistent house style; in other words, without personality. Other Grand Marques, e.g. Pol Roger, ruinart, billecart-Salmon etc do carry this consistent house style that you can affiliate with.
Growers' champagnes, on the other hand, have a lot more of the singature taste of the individual winemakers. One can always bilnd taste out a Selosse, Egly-Ouriet or Cedric Boucahrd |
