VR used to be a "channel" in video game applications.
It's not so popular back then because the performance-to-cost ratio was pretty low.
For now, computation power of both CPU and GPU has increased and the cost of
such computation power is relatively, and therefore it's affordable for arcade and home
game consoles.
In addition to entertainment usage, VR has been being used in not only military training but
also alto-phobia treatment, molecular study in Physics and Chemistry, medical diagnosis etc.
For the general public, game applications would definitely the most interesting among other
applications. One can play the role as (Luke) Skywalker to fight with the Darth Vader
(Anakin Skywalker). Wish this kinda application will not lead to the same sort of tragedies
occurred in HKSARS. |
