Your idea is talking about the theory and the principle of technology. Unfortunately, PRC acheive their goal through copy and copy, or even produce fake product. It is the true and you cannot object it. King of copy cat - PRC.

It is not over-react. It is the true. If PRC haven't stole the technology from others, why the outlook and the functional are almost the same as other? As you said, if PRC refered the design from other and re-develop the weapon by themselve, the internal weapon system and functional should be far different from the original design (liked as F-16 and Jap F-2). But, people should realize what the PRC is doing.

美國FBI特工在麥大志家裏發現了數千份軍事技術文件。麥大志承認1983年以來，他向中共提供武器研究資料，包括神盾艦、維吉尼亞號攻擊潛艇、航空母艦、巡洋艦雷達系統、無人駕駛間諜飛機以及飛彈防禦技術等【包含公羊飛彈系統】。2005美軍情報機構核實中共已取得美國神盾科技。

中共間諜對美國的公司進行廣泛的滲透，竊取美國軍事技術。美國過去幾年破獲的間諜案件中，55%以上與中共有關。然而麥氏兄弟的諜報網絡，卻使得美國軍事技術受到嚴重洩露，所受的損失最大。因此也被美國認為是1985年破獲前蘇聯間諜華爾克將美國海軍通訊密碼交給莫斯科以來最嚴重的間諜案。麥大志送給中共的這些軍事敏感技術將危及台海脆弱的軍事平衡。中共攻取台灣的軍事障礙是美國的第七艦隊，潛艇的聲音特色是識別潛艇的技術關鍵，因此中共竭力要獲得美國的潛水艇靜音技術。

麥氏兄弟間諜網一案撲朔迷離情節起伏，潛伏多年的中共間諜最終落網。

中共購消音技術引美關注

2000年，美商與中國某地發電廠商談投資建新的發電廠，在談判中，中方忽然提出在發電廠設備中安裝消聲設備的要求，並試探購買美國某公司生產的消音設備。中國談判方突然多了兩名陌生的技術人員，且其權利遠高於中方企業主管及當地政府官員。他們將情況報告了美國總部，總部在諮詢美國政府之後得知該消聲設備是軍事管制產品，屬於限製出口類型，於是就將具體情況轉告中方企業，但中方仍不放棄，使用各種手段想得到該產品及生產技術。由此引起了美國情報部門的關注。

中方想要的發電機消聲設備，可以消除發電機等動力設備70%的噪音。中國潛艇技術落後的一個重要環節就是噪音比較大。美國五角大樓的專家曾經開玩笑說，中共潛艇出港，對美國聲納探測系統而言，就像鄰居敲鑼打鼓出門一樣，想聽不到都很難。顯然，如果使用技術先進的消音設備，將大大地消減潛艇噪音，使得中國潛艇行動更加隱祕，從而對美國海上優勢產生威脅。該設備的體積非常小，使用於潛艇發動機上，所佔用的空間不超過1.5立方米，非常適合潛艇這類空間狹隘的軍事用途。

2004年，中共軍方一篇文章透露中共正積極發展攻擊美國航母的武器，已掌握電磁脈衝武器及無人飛機載具的技術。文章還舉例說明，中國可以追蹤美國潛艦。

2006年10月下旬，中國一艘潛水艇在太平洋跟蹤美國小鷹號航空母艦戰鬥群沒有被發現，10月26日當它浮出水面時，美國的航母已位於這艘潛艇的魚雷和導彈的射程之內，兩者距離只有5英里。鄰居出門不再敲鑼打鼓了，中共軍方的這一行動當時引起廣泛關注，有分析指中共是藉此向美國顯示其在潛艇靜音技術方面的實力。

麥大志的業務範圍可以接觸到敏感的美軍機密包括神盾艦（Aegis）武器系統、維吉尼亞號攻擊潛艦魚雷技術及無人駕駛飛機等的相關資料。麥大志還利用Power Paragon公司標得美國軍方200多個合約工程，進出美軍高安管制軍事單位，他曾登上史登尼斯號航空母艦，並在該軍艦以技術研究的名義獲取相當數量的核心技術資料，包括美國驅逐艦和巡航艦核心的神盾戰鬥管理系統、艦隊飛彈防禦系統、路基型飛彈防禦系統、反彈道飛彈系統等機密技術。

滾體飛彈的作業需求是在1975年5月提出1977年美國通用動力公司（General Dynamics，GD）與西德RAM-System GmBH公司簽署工程研發備忘錄1979年丹麥Per Udsen公司加入成為第三位合作夥伴。生產備忘錄於1987年簽署。
1992年8月該公司將戰術飛彈系統的事業部門賣給休斯電子公司（Hughes Electronics），1997年雷神公司（Raytheon）收併休斯電子的防禦部門，也因此取得原來通用動力的飛彈部門，所以公羊飛彈最後是由雷斯安公司負責。西德方面則是由數家公司共同組成RAM-System GmBH參與研發。
滾體飛彈第一次於1978年試射成功，但是後續的發展非常的不順利。丹麥由原先的發展夥伴關係自行降級為觀察員的身分，稍後並且引入海麻雀飛彈滿足他們的點防禦需求。西德一度考慮退出研發計劃，美國甚至終止整個開發進度，但是稍後又恢復計劃的推動。
滾體飛彈的前30套於1985年生產，並在1992年11月14日於美國海軍的塔拉瓦級兩棲登陸艦的第五艘——貝里琉號上正式服役，後續美國海軍期望採購1,600枚公羊飛彈與115套發射器，並預計裝設在74艘船艦上。
目前使用國家包括美國部分水面作戰艦艇、25艘德國艦艇、希臘南韓埃及等國家。此外澳大利亞意大利荷蘭挪威西班牙土耳其阿拉伯聯合酋長國都表示採購的興趣。

美國聯邦調查局2004年秋天吸納了一名在解放軍內部的情報人員，此人確認任職Power Paragon的麥大志是洩密者，解放軍更透過他獲取了美國海軍軍艦的其他敏感技術和資訊。

2005年10月19日，潛伏在中國的美國特工發回情報，美國中情局（CIA）截獲一通以「紅花」為代號的電話，最終導致麥氏一家被捕及遭起訴。當日麥大泓從美國撥了一個電話到廣州，接話人蒲培良是中山大學亞太研究中心的研究員。麥大泓在電話中說：「我是北美的紅花」，並說將在9天後到達中國。蒲培良指示他使用電話卡從廣州機場打電話，以便到機場去接他。

2005年10月28日，美國聯邦調查局在洛杉磯國際機場逮捕了準備前往香港的麥大泓夫婦，並在行李中搜出3張用特殊方式拷貝的加密光碟，內有軍艦靜態電機驅動系統（QED）資訊。

隨後，麥大志、趙麗華夫婦在洛杉磯橙縣唐尼市的家裏被捕。麥大泓的兒子、就讀於洛杉磯加州大學的26歲的麥銳也被拘留。

搜出中共需要的軍事機密清單

此外，調查人員還搜查出關於DDX驅逐艦計劃資料的微縮膠捲，這些資料屬於「專有」和「受限制」級。

麥大志在被捕兩天後向FBI調查人員承認，自1983年以來，他一直向中共提供有關武器研究的資料。這些敏感資料包括：潛艇用交流電直接變直流電的轉換器；潛艇用5,000安培直流電混合斷路器；航母使用的電磁飛機發射系統；最先進的導彈飛彈驅逐艦、巡洋艦上神盾武器系統的配電及武器系統/Spy-1雷達、飛彈防禦技術等等。

yes. I agree western also have Agent or even CIA spy in China. But, I talked about PRC stole latest techonolgy to produce own weapons. That's no argue. Ironically, PRC said they developed by themselve and some naive people believe and even appreciate to do so.
Westen techonolgy is good enough and no need to from PRC. On the contrary, PRC stole the tech from western and Russia in past 1X years. If you wanna to be a copy cat, you will be a copy cat ever. The latest released weapon in PRC, I can see the fake of F-22, fake of C-17 and even fake of Arleigh Burke. These fake weapon only have 50% - 60% functional from the original. If PRC spent huge amout for spying, these technology should be used for developing advance weapon, not for re-developing fake weapon. For such kind of human being, it should not be appreciated.

Seems you are being out of the weapon topic and drop to something called kindnapping, immigration rule and so on and so on.
I am not willing to talking about the immigration of scientists. It was a WAR, MAD! I don't care how US got the scientist from Germany (You are thinking Einstein was kinapped by US Gov't? OMG!). My point of view is PRC just copy others' tech, just copy and copy. As you said, US got the tech of V1 and V2 missile. They used this tech to develop new missile and even the rocket instead of building the fake of V1 and V2!. Nowadays, you saw the latest weapon of PRC. The capability released by PRC gov't for 運-20. The general capability is only 80% of C-17 ( you can get it from wiki). In general case, the capability of plane will be less more than original design after the testing and practical use. Liked as 787, the oil saving function was dropped from original design. For fixing each of design failure after testing, the general capabiity will drop also. As a professioanl engineering, you should know this point.

I think you still misunderstand my point of view. It's shame, not because PRC copy others tech. It's shame PRC announced they developed a own-developed weapon. As an expert of weapon or even professional engineers, you can find out there is a fake. I don't care PRC will develope the new weapon themselves. I just disagree such kind of pride. It's shame, not pride.

Yes. you are right. If all evidence shaw PRC just copy others tech and neglect to develop product. And someone think that is a normal pratice. There is no sense for me to engage any further as well. 一個裝睡的人永遠不能甦醒.
